Visitors
The members of this committee do not need to be health professionals, but they do need to be interested in promoting health in the parish. They must recognize the need to improve the quality of life, the health and well-being of the members of their parish. This commitment will reflect the healing mission of the church. There is need for a willingness to learn and to share in all aspects of this ministry. For the health ministry to be successful, it is essential for the pastor, health coordinator (nurse) and health committee to meet regularly. This will allow for communication of needs, discussion of programs, the evaluation and nurture of the members.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Attend meetings of the committee.
- Participate in planning and implementation of activities.
- Heighten the parish awareness of health issues.
- Encourage health promotion in the parish, through your own lifestyle.
- Support and publicize the mission.
- Attend training course (certification) and continuing education.
- Strengthen the caring relationship within the community.
- Recruit volunteers.
- Identify individuals who need assistance or support from the ministry.
